105 Finalists Named for Australia‘s Highest-Value Women’s Art Prize

The Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize has announced its 105 finalists for 2026, marking the tenth year of the country’s highest-value art prize for women.

Selected from 1,750 entries across three categories — Professional, Emerging, and Indigenous Emerging — the finalists represent artists from every state and territory. The judging panel, which includes renowned public artist and Ravenswood alumna Jade Oakley, described the standard of submissions as exceptional.

“It is inspiring to see the Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize go from strength to strength, and to witness the opportunities it affords Professional, Emerging and Indigenous women artists across the country,” Oakley said.

The prize pool totals $58,000, with the Professional Artist Prize carrying a $35,000 top award. The Emerging Artist Prize ($7,500, supported by The Reed Family Foundation) and Indigenous Emerging Artist Prize ($7,500, supported by Guardian and Scarborough Foundation) round out the major awards, alongside a $2,000 People’s Choice Award and six Highly Commended Awards of $1,000 each.

Winners will be announced at Opening Night on Friday 15 May 2026, at Ravenswood School for Girls in Gordon, Sydney. The free public exhibition runs Thursdays to Sundays, 10am–4pm, from 16–31 May. All finalist works will be available for purchase online from Opening Night.
