Australia’s most valuable art prize for women, the Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize, is now open for entries for its 2026 edition, marking the 10th anniversary of the nationally recognised award. With a total prize pool of $58,000, the Prize continues to celebrate and support the creative achievements of women artists from across Australia.

Established in 2017, the Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize has received more than 13,000 entries over the past decade, affirming its position as a leading platform for the visibility and recognition of women in the arts. Emerging and Indigenous artists make up 65 per cent of past entrants, reflecting the Prize’s commitment to inclusivity and the support of under-represented voices.

The acquisitive Prize is open to Australian women artists aged 18 years and over, accepting works across all mediums. Three main categories will be awarded in 2026: the Professional Artist Prize ($35,000), Emerging Artist Prize ($7,500, supported by The Reed Family Foundation), and Indigenous Emerging Artist Prize ($7,500, supported by The Scarborough and Guardian Foundation).

Additional prizes include the People’s Choice Award of $2,000 and a Derivan art materials pack, as well as six Highly Commended Awards of $1,000 each.

Entries close on 11 February 2026, with finalists to be announced on 1 April. The winners will be revealed at an opening night event on 15 May 2026. The exhibition of finalists will be open to the public at Ravenswood School for Girls in Gordon, NSW, and available online from 16 to 31 May 2026.

Founded to promote equality and excellence in the visual arts, the Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize continues to recognise the outstanding achievements of women artists nationwide through the ongoing support of its partners and sponsors.
