Alcaston Gallery presents Western Desert Pintupi artist, Adrian Jurra Tjungurrayi’s second solo exhibition.
With a sophisticated command of minimalist composition, Adrian Jurra Tungurrayi’s paintings are characterised by rippling linework that recalls the significant ancestral site and Tjukurrpa (ancestral stories) of Yunala, of which he is the custodian, and the interlacing root systems of the native bush flora of the same name.
In recent years, Adrian Jurra has introduced to his practice an arresting tonal depth, which shifts between soft pastels and deeply saturated crimson and blues, capturing the landscape and shimmering salt lakes of his Country as it changes with light and season.
Adrian Jurra Tjungurrayi presented his debut solo exhibition at Alcaston Gallery, Melbourne in 2024 to commercial and critical success. This highly anticipated exhibition will be his second exhibition at Alcaston Gallery, and his first since his finalist inclusion in the prestigious $50,000 Len Fox Painting Award 2024.
Exhibition Launch and Meet the Artist Event: Thursday 31 July 4:30-7 PM
