The Magnificent Levitation Act of Lauren O narrates the story of artist Angela Su‘s alter-ego, Lauren O, a mysterious circus performer drawn to levitation practices.
The video follows O as she skirts through subcultures and undergoes rapid transformations, from her membership in an anarchist group of vaudeville performers to her involvement with anti-Vietnam War protesters attempting to levitate the Pentagon.
Featuring a kinbaku-style aerial performance and archival footage of gravity-defiers, emotional breakdowns, and psychedelic raves, Su’s work links flight with explorations of the recesses of the mind.
