Gippsland Art Gallery presents the fifth exhibition of work by Annemieke Mein within her dedicated space at the Port of Sale.
The exciting new display features several major works drawn from Mein’s own collection, together with works from the Gippsland Art Gallery collection and another private collections in Victoria. This exhibition provides a unique opportunity for visitors to experience works rarely seen in public. This exhibition features the large scale work Face On, as well as relevant sketches and designs showing the artistic process that went into producing this magnificent work. Visitors will also see two display cases, which reveal insights into the skill and preparation that goes into each of Mein’s artworks.
Mein’s textiles have been inspiring audiences in Gippsland and further afield for nearly 50 years. Her works are collected not just across Australia, but around the world. The dedicated space in Gippsland Art Gallery hosts regularly changing exhibitions, each with an emphasis on educational displays that reveal the methods and techniques in the process of creating a textile work.
