Chasing Alice is an exhibition by Annie Lok featuring the latest works in her ongoing series Rabbit Holes. Each piece features a female protagonist, the ‘Alice’, as she navigates her way through these carefully constructed compositions – imbued with symmetry, balance, texture and colour theory – by utilising the tools available in photo editing software to manipulate personal and found imagery through either filtering, warping, stretching, or layering, all in a bid to invent a landscape for each ‘Alice’ to discover.

Rabbit Holes are designed to test our physical, intellectual and emotive boundaries when thrust into familiar and unfamiliar spaces: does our trauma response activate or is it a welcomed escape from reality?
