Multidisciplinary artist Barry Tate presents Riches, the follow up to his critically acclaimed 2017 exhibition This Is Colony. Tate once again employs Japanese processes and philosophy in the creation of deeply felt artworks that contemplate where Australia is heading as a society. Issues of Australian identity are foremost in mind for Tate, exemplified by the figurative ceramic sculpture Go back where you came from!, which in its absurdity lays bare the political discourse that has existed within Australia for the last decade.
