Braddon Snape, ‘Materiality Performed’, 2018. Inflation performance as part of Next to Nothing: Art as Performance Symposium 2. Courtesy: the artist and The Lock-Up, Newcastle. Newcastle based artist Braddon Snape works primarily with sculpture and installation including large scale public works. Snape’s current practice, a culmination of the artist’s recent PhD research, focuses on a dangerously exciting new method of inflating steel to create three-dimensional forms. These new works feature in Internal Pressure, a site-specific exhibition, created in direct response to The Lock-Up’s loaded spaces.
