An elaborate scheme is Brendan Van Hek‘s fifth solo exhibition at Sarah Cottier Gallery, and extends upon his increasing integration of glass, carpet, and furniture in recent years. Working with existing art and design histories, Van Hek’s new body of work examines the ways in which cultural heritage is claimed, subverted, and recycled within the enduring modernist lexicon of reproducibility.
