David Frazer’s work explores the themes of truth, despair and the emotional and fragile state of the human condition. The tangled wood delves further into the idea of the landscape as metaphor for man. As David says, “Tangled wood, tangled life. Wounded wood, the wounded damaged, flawed man. It’s all essentially the same old thing; just confused, hopeless, exhausted, bewildered men.”
David’s work is represented in collections including the National Gallery of Australia, Art Gallery of New South Wales, Art Gallery of South Australia, Australian War Memorial and State Library of Victoria.
Exhibition opens: 6–8pm Thursday 13 February 2020
