Eloise Kirk brings together a new way of engagement of sculptural, textural, collage and painting elements in Flashpoint. Her work is extended through both two and three-dimensional works and explores the unification of painting, collage and installation.
Sampling images of geological formations and utilising the concepts of erasure, fragmentation, and collage, she creates sequences of symbolic arrangements that express poetic resonances.
Kirk is a Masters Graduate from Sydney College of the Arts and this year’s recipient of the CAT Shotgun Award, a partnership between Contemporary Art Tasmania, Detached and Mona, which supports a Tasmanian artists through production assistance and critical engagement. Kirk was also a recipient of the Art Gallery of NSW Cite de Internationale Residency, Paris, 2014, and was a finalist in numerous national awards including Macquarie Group New Acquisitions and John Fries Emerging Artist Award 2015.
Exhibition opens: 5.30-7:30pm Friday 24 May 2019
