Stanley Street Gallery presents work by Felix Gill, a Sydney based artist, maker and interrupter. Gill uses the body to distribute and explore ideas of place, in particular the natural urban environment. In his exhibition An Interrupted Place the act of collecting and taking the flotsam and jetsam, sticks and stones from the urban environment begins the process. Collecting is then followed by making – a further interruption. We are asked to move beyond being an observer and to become the wearer and a participant in the interruption.
Exhibition opens: 6–8pm Wednesday 12 June 2019
