Sullivan+Strumpf presents The Forest, an exhibition featuring work by Sydney-based artist Grant Stevens. Working predominantly with computer graphics, moving image, and photography, his practice explores the various ways that digital technologies and conventions of representation mediate our inner worlds and social realities.
In this exhibition, time flies and stands still. Days are filled with scrolling, swiping, zooming – texts go unread, emails unreplied, noise-cancelling headphones muffle unwanted sounds. Out there, droughts, floods, and fires wreak havoc with the earth and distress communities. For those with the means, digital detoxes, meditation apps, and slow TV offer other ways to restore bodies, minds, and spirits, if you can find the time.
The gallery is adhering to COVID-19 social distancing measures.
