Roslyn Oxley9 Gallery presents A Painting Show, which features new works by Tom Polo, Gareth Sansom and Jenny Watson. Equally exuberant yet diverse, this selection of paintings are the markers of our time. Polo uses painting and painted environments to explore how conversation, doubt and gesture are embodied acts of portraiture. Sansom’s luridly coloured and densely layered paintings explore physical, psychological and material transformation; they begin as one thing but swiftly morph into another. Inspired by both punk and feminism, Watson’s readily recognised autobiographical and fictional features combine colour, fabric, text, recurring figures and subtle humour to create a powerful narrative.
The gallery is open and practicing COVID-19 social distancing measures.
