PARKER Contemporary
Two years of PARKER Contemporary.
In September 2024, Emily Parker signed the lease for 38 Hope Street in the Fish Lane Arts Precinct and began establishing what would become PARKER Contemporary. Two years on, the gallery has grown through an ambitious program of exhibitions, art fairs, artist projects, conversations and, importantly, the support of a growing community and collectors around the gallery.
Edition Two marks this next milestone, bringing together works by artists featured across PARKER Contemporary’s 2026 solo exhibition program: Mika Nakamura-Mather, Teeya Ryan, Chris Hagen, Iain Turnbull, Matthew Newkirk, Carolyn Craig, Alethea Richter, Bridget Hillebrand, Geoffrey Burns and Pat Hoffie AM.
Curated across the gallery, the exhibition offers an opportunity to encounter the year’s program as a whole, tracing the different ideas, materials and approaches that have shaped 2026 and the gallery’s evolving curatorial direction.
Coinciding with AusArt Day, Edition Two is also a moment to celebrate the people who make an independent gallery possible: the artists, collectors, visitors, collaborators and supporters who continue to invest in contemporary practice in Queensland.
