Group Exhibition: Land is Life

July 9 - July 27

Alcaston Gallery is proud to present Land is Life, a significant exhibition featuring paintings by some of Australia’s most groundbreaking First Nations artists, whose celebrated careers have reshaped the landscape of Australian contemporary art.

Presented in conversation with Jalak Graphics’ landmark political poster, which features the great Warlpiri painter Lorna Fencer Napurrula, this exhibition illuminates the ways in which First Nations artists articulate their ancestral and lived connections to Country. Exhibited alongside each other, these artists offer a powerful testimony to the profound, nuanced and enduring significance of Country.

Land is Life is presented at the Alcaston Gallery Exhibition Space, 84 William Street Naarm/Melbourne, from 9 – 26 July 2025.
