Wangaratta Art Gallery is one of six public galleries in Victoria to be selected for a pilot project by Creative Victoria to create digital records of the artworks in its collection. This initiative involves digitising the collection and assisting with the Gallery’s responsibility to care for the collection and make it more accessible. Digitising a collection is a highly complex and labour intensive task, carried out by trained staff members. The Roadshow Project will involve experts from the National Gallery of Victoria, conservators and digital photographers working in residence to support the project’s outcomes.
Revealed will be a changing display of selected art works where unseen or less familiar works will be highlighted throughout the project’s duration. Come and watch the process reveal what happens behind the scenes and discover the hidden gems within.
The gallery is currently closed due to the public due to COVID-19. Dates to be advised, check the gallery website for updates.
