This year’s annual SIGNIFICANT exhibition presents over forty exceptional works of art by leading Australian Indigenous artists.
Tommy Lowry’s Two Men Dreaming at Kuluntjarranya 1984 leads the exhibition. This extraordinary painting, recognised as a national treasure, has spent the past 15 years travelling as part of high-profile international touring exhibitions and will now be offered for sale for the first time since 2007.
Among the many other highlights is an outstanding early Papunya board by Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarri, Untitled – Snake Dreaming 1972, the first known painting on board by Tim Leura Tjapaltjarri, Possum Dreaming 1971, a group of early Kimberley bark paintings and important works by Australia’s most eminent contemporary artists including Emily Kame Kngwarreye, Lin Onus and Sally Gabori.
