ARC ONE Gallery is delighted to present STRUCK: by the complexity of meaning, a group exhibition featuring women artists whose work critically engages with art, culture and our collective consciousness.
Showcasing key works by seven Australian contemporary artists well-known for their intellectual rigour and aesthetic finesse, STRUCK features Pat Brassington, Janet Laurence, Eugenia Raskopoulos, Jacky Redgate, Julie Rrap, Nike Savvas and Anne Zahalka. Across a dynamic mix of sculpture, installation, video and photo-based media, the artists in this exhibition are drawn together by a shared exploration of new forms of art, an interrogation of contemporary culture, archetypes and tropes, and the creation of new cultural commentary.
Variously touching on abstraction, language, identity, cultural and gendered stereotyping, the human condition, and environmental concerns, the diverse yet focussed range of work presented in STRUCK provides a context in which we can explore the complexity of meaning.
