Since its inception in 2001, the Hazelhurst Art on Paper Award has become a significant national award dedicated to celebrating and elevating the significance of work on paper. The Hazelhurst Art on Paper Award promotes excellence and innovation in the field of art on paper while supporting and encouraging artists who specialise in this medium.

With a total prize pool of $26,000, the Award recognises outstanding artworks created with, on, or about paper and provides a platform for recognition and an opportunity for artists to explore the materiality, versatility, and potential of paper as a medium for artistic expression.
The 2025 exhibition features works by 61 finalists and represents the breadth and depth of contemporary practice with, on, or about paper, across drawing, painting, photography, installation, video and more.
