Emerging Brisbane artist Holly Anderson invites viewers into a luminous world where light and the body converge. Her latest paintings are inspired by shimmering light on the beaches of Minjerribah/North Stradbroke Island, where the glitter path—a dazzling reflection that follows us along the waterline—becomes a personal and poetic experience. Anderson explains, “When I see the glitter path and the visual monochromatic flatness of the ocean, I see it as extending up as a body, that faces me.” Each artwork captures the intensity of light and its ability to awaken a sense of presence, infinity and the celestial in everyday life. Through this series, Anderson explores how seeing is not just visual but physical, transforming fleeting optical phenomena into artistic encounters.
