At its heart, James Drinkwater’s exhibition, Tesoro Mio—meaning “My Treasure” in Italian—speaks of one’s ability to find beauty in the world. Offering a window into intimate moments, Drinkwater presents painted expressions of what it means to be alive, to love and to be loved. Drinkwater delves into abstraction; his swaths of colour burst with life and capture the artist’s palpable spirit. Tesoro Mio offers beauty as respite and reminds us to search for treasure, even where we least expect it.
