Johl Dwyer’s sculptures are luxurious and satisfyingly perfect.
His interest in the refraction of light to create colour has led him to explore different methods of applying colour to resin, and to investigate the ways that light and colour collide inside a cuboid form.
YinMn Blue is the first new blue pigment to be discovered in 200 years. It contains the elements Yttrium, Indium, Manganese, and Oxygen and was created accidentally by chemists researching electronics applications at Oregon State University .
Dwyer’s new body of work comprises a series of framed wall-based works in cast resin – including one created using this brand-new colour – alongside a suite of polished steel and resin cubes.
