Dialogue 2: On Hessian is the second in a series of exhibitions that bring into dialogue the practices of artists John Nixon and Elizabeth Pulie in order to probe and locate ideas, histories and methodologies specific to their relationship. Titled ‘On Hessian’ this iteration connects the practices of Nixon and Pulie by their use of hessian. This material link begins a much deeper exploration of overlapping ideas, including the artists’ interest in craft, the painted surface, the ontology of art, and the social and political implications of using hessian.
The gallery is open and practicing COVID-19 social distancing measures.
Elizabeth Pulie artist talk: 2-5pm Saturday 24 October.
