Utopia Art Sydney presents new paintings by John R Walker in the exhibition Deep Time Painting. Australia is a land of deep time. The New Years Fires of 2019-20 nearly destroyed Walker’s part of NSW, it taught him the unforgiving power of our country. It taught him the resilience of the bush and land he paints.
Although it’s not a literal landscape, this is Walker’s deep emotionally felt reaction to a place he has come to really know and understand. His painting reflects years spent engaging with the land.
