Jordan Wood, Fisticuffs, 2021. Sublimation print on silk crepe de Chine, 100 x 74cm. Courtesy: the artist and MARS Gallery, Melbourne.
Jordan Wood’s collages pull together select fragments of print to use as tools to navigate questions of travel, movement, place, bodies, excess and restraint. Collage becomes a healing modality, restructuring experiences to offer multiple understandings and potential propositions. Through collating shapes, forms, motions and thoughts from various sites, the exhibition is a composite of collective and personal memories.
