The forthcoming exhibition at Philip Bacon Galleries is by Sydney-based painter, Jude Rae.
The solo exhibition is Rae’s first with Philip Bacon Galleries, following a successful exhibiting career spanning four decades. Rae was the recipient of the 2016 Bulgari Art Award, in partnership with the Art Gallery of New South Wales, and in 2017 was honoured with a major survey exhibition curated by Terence Maloon at the Drill Hall Gallery in Canberra. She has twice won the The Portia Geach Memorial Award (2005 & 2008), and has been a finalist in the Archibald Prize, including being highly commended in 2019.
Rae’s practice exudes mastery of her utilised mediums, with her forthcoming exhibition largely consisting of recent still life paintings and interiors.
Exhibition opens: 6–8pm Thursday 30 May 2019
