Alcaston Gallery presents Specimen Gully, a new exhibition of cast bronze tree sculptures by Judy Holding.
Over the past months Holding has spent her time in isolation creating work in her studio located in the Goldfields of Central Victoria, continuing her quiet, microscopic observations of the surrounding environment, and her ongoing investigation of its past.
Holding’s masterfully realised sculptures convey the subtle power and beauty of each individual tree; each iconic silhouette referencing a specific event or location within the artist’s concentrated natural environment, alluding to her innate spiritual and physical connection to the Australian landscape.
