July 16, 2021 - August 21, 2021
Junk Go, Wearing disdain is dowdy. There is something comforting about pretending you just don’t care, or is it a defence mechanism? Don’t be too defensive. The umbrella that was once a shelter from the rain can be a parasol to block out the warm sunshine, 2021. Acrylic, oil pastel, charcoal on canvas, 185 x 94cm. Courtesy: the artist and Gallerysmith, Melbourne.
Drawing on her interest in duality and eastern philosophies, Junko Go’s new works reflect on the darkness of our year of the pandemic, however, contained within are messages of hope and optimism.
