In her new solo exhibition at Alcaston Gallery, Darwin-based artist and descendant of the Balanggarra people Karen Mills presents a series of new works that investigates themes of identity and memory; connection and disconnection with her heritage. Her abstract paintings are generally landscape-based, inspired by her experience and memory of Country.
Most recently, the Art Gallery of South Australia, Adelaide featured a solo exhibition of incredible framed diptych paintings by Karen Mills, as part of the 2021-2022 TARNANTHI Festival of Contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art.
