Dearest introduces a newly created figures and animals, each one constructed from bones and natural fibres – materials that have been sourced and collected over many years. The poise and pathos inherent in Ivimey’s figures comes from her unwavering approach to each work as she constructs, creates and decorates it. Each figure is adorned with a keepsake that tells a narrative specific to the figure. Sometimes worn as a visible ornament, they just as often remain a secret hidden within the sculpture – a bond kept between the artist and her creation.
