Luke Wagner’s Earthly Immortalities is a celebration of people’s lives and what contributions they have left behind, a connection to memories and how they can be triggered by the sense of a space, cloth or shadow, to family or past generations. Where a photo is literal, memories and references have a wider influence and can move us in many ways.
Wagner is an established artist who has been widely exhibited with over 50 solo exhibitions in many cities and finalist in numerous awards including The Glover, Hadley’s, Tattersalls, Lloyd Rees Art Prize and Hutchins. As a fifth generation Tasmanian, Wagner brings an extraordinary creativeness that also arises from his connection to layers of history, dialogues and family.
Exhibition opens: 5:30–7:30pm Friday 4 October 2019
