Mark Schaller’s Botanicus Fantasticus is new series of glorious botanicals informed by the natural world, literature and the universe. Atomised, cosmic, kinetic humans fade in and out of nature surroundings, playfully investigating urban retreats as spaces of wild nature interactions and interventions.
Botanicus Fantasticus, Autumn, is the first in Modern Seasons, the great curve publication series navigating a portrait of the four seasons. The four-part publication is a documentation of five Australian Visual Artists’ response to the undulations of abstracted time and causation in 2020.
