UNstable is the 8th in a series of exhibitions that are part of an ongoing body of work, the Keloid project, by artist Megan Evans. The word ‘keloid’ is used to describe an unsightly scar from the healing of a wound, a sign of initiation or significant life event. The project examines the traces of early colonial history on the artist’s identity and the impact of that history as it unfolds today. Developed over many years the project has produced a large body of work which look at the role of the coloniser and the impact of colonisation from the perspective of a descendant of a settler/colonial family.
The gallery is currently closed in line with COVID-19 restrictions. For more information on the exhibition, visit the gallery’s website here.
