In My Nature is an exhibition of new sculptural works by Odette Ireland. Ireland’s art practice is concerned with themes associated with connection/disconnection to place. Her work references her family history and demonstrates metaphorically how difference and disparity can build a cohesive, resilient family and community. For this exhibition Ireland has created ceramic and mixed media sculptures that are suspended, free standing or hang on the wall. Inspired by nature and influenced by Alexander Calder’s mobiles, Ireland has carefully crafted and assembled a series of sculptural works that compel and intrigue.
There will be a special opening event on Thursday 3 October, 6pm – 8pm, where special guest speaker Barbara Campbell-Allen OAM, Renowned Ceramic Artist, will give an address.
Exhibition opens: 10am–8pm Wednesday 2 October 2019
