An exhibition by West Australian sculptor Peter Zappa, who seamlessly weaves art and science together to create sculptures that choreograph unfolding visual narratives, like performers on a stage.
The landscape (in art) is a fixed, two-dimensional representative view across an area of land depicting all the visible features, typically consisting of a rear, mid and foreground. For Zappa his sculptures are physical compositions that occupy real space and time. He composes the sculptures using imagined abstract forms to minimise distracting realism. Just like real space, his works are fluid, subject to natural forces. The components within a spacescape can move and interact with each other unlike a static landscape.
