Gallery 9 presents new works from contemporary Sydney-based artist Pollyxenia Joannou. Her artworks speak of absence, impressions, traces, and memory relating to structures of a by-gone and present-day landscape. This translation from the physical landscape and her personal historical experience is then broken down in the studio through shapes, proportions and the tactility of materials and mediums.
Joannou is represented in collections such as The Art Gallery of NSW, Artbank Australia, University of Sydney, Redland Art Gallery and private collections throughout Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Europe and the UK.
Exhibition opens: 6–8pm Wednesday 26 February 2020
