Gallery Sally Dan-Cuthbert is pleased to present Sabine Marcelis’s first Australian solo exhibition, Shadow Light.
Sabine Marcelis’s exhibition features floor and wall works, including, her much acclaimed Candy Cubes and Soap Table alongside new wall works titled Shadow Light which the exhibition is named after. The exhibition demonstrates the complexity and depth of Marcelis’s material-led practice that focuses on the interaction between light, colour, and material.
Earning international recognition for her bold experimentation which pushes the limits of both material and production capabilities, Marcelis strives to capture transient moments of light and movement in her work. Creating a fascinating interplay between the static and the ephemeral, Marcelis incites a sensorial experience that transforms resin and glass into soft, luminescent, and dynamic pieces that continually surprise. Marcelis is found in private and museum collections around the world, including The National Gallery of Victoria.
