Chalk Horse presents work by Tara Marynowsky. In Movies, Marynowsky’s adoration for cinema is powerfully evoked, and she captures its force in a spectacular collision of colour, sound, movement and light. We are taken on a cinematic adventure, where images tell us about the world and point towards the things we desire or are directed to desire. We are swept away with emotion, for better or worse.

Movies is an ode to cinematic brilliance and innovation – but it goes beyond this. With a dose of critical wit, Marynowsky injects new life into old images, indicating that nothing is final, not even the director’s cut.
