Circus Of The Oppressed was conceived during Texta Queen‘s Creative Fellowship at the State Library of Victoria, studying the political, circus and magic posters and books in the Library’s archives. This satirical poster style series examines the experiences of marginalised artists in institutional contexts and is created in collaboration with 10gentle collective, a for-profit anti-oppression operation of diverse creators and community builders in the progressive arts dedicated to maximising the expression of the marginalised identities for the education, inspiration and entertainment of privileged audiences.
