Tricky Walsh, Interference Pattern in Time, 2019. Gouache on paper, 105 x 75cm. Courtesy: the artist, and MARS Gallery, Melbourne.
MARS Gallery presents Flatland by Tricky Walsh. Based on recent scientific discoveries about the actual potential 2-dimensional nature of our universe, Flatland is a geometric exploration of our universe. This work has a rich and variegated logic that has been refined over many years of experimentation, investigation and research.
One of the most delicate structural complexities that underpins Walsh’s work is the blending of fact and fiction: Walsh takes real, complex ideas, deeply explored through meticulous research and feeds these notions and theories into their work. Walsh’s research is eclectic, but there’s long been a strong interest in the strange areas of physics and maths that bleed into the most wild and challenging notions of scientific investigation.
