Established in 1988, Mosman Art Gallery (MAG) aims to be a place of connection, offering visitors valuable experiences through exhibitions, public programs and its art collection.

Featuring five dedicated exhibition spaces, the gallery’s exhibition program is derived from local, national and international sources, including historical and contemporary themes and subjects. The exhibitions are accompanied by a program of artist talks, tours, workshops and other events for all ages, including students and children.

AWARDS

Established in 1947, the Mosman Art Prize is Australia’s oldest and most prestigious local government art award. As an acquisitive art award for painting, the winning artworks collected form a significant collection of modern and contemporary Australian art. The Mosman Youth Art Prize is an annual competition organised by Mosman Council that aims to encourage the creative talents of young, aspiring and emerging artists whilst providing a showcase for their works. It was initiated in 1988 by the internationally renowned artist and local resident Ken Done AM. The Prize is open to all young people aged 12-21 years and is one of the richest youth art prizes in Australia.
