New artist on the menu for Arthouse

Scott Duncan has joined the Warrane/Sydney gallery.

Arthouse Gallery in Warrane/Sydney has announced that chef-turned-sculptor Scott Duncan will join its already impressive stable, bringing with him a whimsical aesthetic sensibility. Combining mid-century design elements with antique forms, Duncan plays with the many preconceptions associated with ceramic art. From pastry to carboard, fruit and bubble gum, the artist delights in deceiving the eye with his clay creations.

The artist has twice been a finalist in the Coffs Harbour Regional Art Gallery’s STILL: The National Still Life Award, and his works can be found in numerous private collections as well as that of Deakin University, ACE Hotel and Artbank. He has exhibited across Australia, and he has been a featured artist at the Sydney Contemporary Art Fair.

Duncan’s work is currently on show at Arthouse Gallery alongside Fabrizio Biviano, Naomi Hobson, Clifford How and Colin Pennock in Bloom, which runs until 20 July.
