Sullivan+Strumpf celebrated the opening of their new Singapore location this week with the launch of their inaugural exhibition, Bricks Laid, Stories Untold, marking a significant milestone for the gallery as they expand their presence in the Asia-Pacific region.

Located in the vibrant Tiong Bahru district at 1M Yong Siak Street, the inaugural exhibition brings together established and emerging voices including Yanyun Chen, Kirsten Coelho, Julia Gutman, Kanchana Gupta, Irfan Hendrian, Gregory Hodge, Lindy Lee, Tiffany Loy, Dawn Ng, Ramesh Mario Nithiyendran, Adeela Suleman, Ella Wijt, and Yang Yongliang.

Bricks Laid, Stories Untold presents a compelling exploration of structure, memory, and transformation through diverse media including painting, sculpture, installation, textile, and photography. The exhibition’s title reflects its central themes – examining the invisible labour that underpins creative acts and celebrating the shared narratives that emerge when new ground is broken. Each artist contributes unique material and conceptual approaches to ideas of becoming and renewal. The works range from meditative gestures to complex layered acts of repair and transformation, creating a collective reflection on beginning again, how spaces hold meaning, and the ways stories are carried forward through artistic form.

Bricks Laid, Stories Untold runs until August 16, 2025. The Sullivan+Strumpf Singapore gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 6pm, or by appointment.
