Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi is returns to Sydney’s iconic Bondi to Tamarama coastal walk from October 17, 2025, transforming the spectacular 2km stretch into an open-air gallery featuring over 90 sculptures from artists around the world.

Now in its 27th year, the world’s largest free-to-the-public outdoor sculpture exhibition is expected to attract 450,000 visitors over 18 days, running until November 3, 2025. This year’s exhibition brings together artists from 13 countries, including Japan, Denmark, China, and India, with 36 first-time exhibitors making their Sculpture by the Sea debut.

Among the notable first-timers is Tim Storrier AM, winner of both the Doug Moran National Portrait Prize and the Archibald Prize, marking a significant addition to the exhibition’s prestigious roster.

The 2025 edition features several exciting returns and new partnerships. Lucy Barker and Jane Gillings, who have each exhibited at Sculpture by the Sea over 10 times, will collaborate on a sculpture together for the first time this year.

Drew MacDonald, last year’s People’s and Kids’ Choice Award winner for “Sharnana,” returns with another innovative creation, while Shen Lieyi from China, recipient of the Aqualand Sculpture Award, will present new work for the second consecutive year.

Seven members of the exhibition’s “double decade club”—artists who have participated for 20 years or more—will return to Bondi, including Ron Gomboc, Orest Keywan, Stephen King, Michael le Grand, James Rogers, Philip Spelman, and Keizo Ushio. Their continued presence underscores the exhibition’s significance as a cornerstone of Australia’s contemporary sculpture scene.

The free exhibition offers visitors the opportunity to experience cutting-edge contemporary sculpture against one of Australia’s most breathtaking coastal backdrops, continuing Sculpture by the Sea’s mission to make art accessible to all.

Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi runs from October 17 to November 3, 2025, along the Bondi to Tamarama coastal walk.
