Alcaston Gallery presents new works by Beverly Burton and Barabara Moore.
The powerful and vibrant linear mark-making of Burton’s paintings is both characteristic to her artistic practice, as well as alluding to her important and influential family lineage including the work of her mother, artist and revered ngangkaṟi Naomi Kantjuriny, and her father, renowned senior artist and respected elder, the late Kunmanara (Hector) Burton.
Moore’s commanding paintings, rendered in sweeping arcs of vibrant colour, offer aerial perspectives of her beloved Anmatyerre Country, depicting the undulating landscape and significant formations of the Australian Central Desert, meticulously recalled from memory.
Opening Event: Thursday 19 October, 4 – 6pm.
