Chris Denton’s prints and drawings are intricate, minutely observed and exquisitely executed. An abiding interest in numbers, science and philosophy underpins his moody and atmospheric works – distilled into the single motif of a lone tree against a veil of mist. Of this upcoming exhibition mists, Denton says “In this age of falsehood, conspiracy, lies and denial, a number of themes are intertwined in this work: the reality of a tree silhouetted against the mists of this confusion; the presence of some simple numerical symbols as an appeal to rational thought; the use of the colour red as a warning. This red could symbolise the vital force of nature, or alternatively signal impending doom – it all depends…”
