Ditty Wheels is representing critically acclaimed photographer Christopher Ireland in the seventh edition of Sydney Contemporary, Australasia’s largest and most diverse gathering of contemporary art galleries in the region.

Ireland’s work makes the viewer feel as though there has been no language to pay homage to exquisite botanicals until now, each of the artist’s images expressing their physical and emotional qualities with respect and admiration. The photographic vernacular is a historical craft and process, lost in our modern world of devices and digital prints. His creativity extends beyond the camera into the darkroom, where techniques and chemicals contribute to a unique style that cannot be imitated.

Each print is distinctive with imperfections and natural variations, always individual as no two are the same. By combining the disciplines of art and science the collector can have their own botanical to appreciate, one that stands the test of time on paper with indisputable elegance.
