Esther Stewart is presenting one of her 1970s Sculpture Kitchens, which is part of an ongoing sculpture project involving the restoration and expansion of salvaged modernist kitchens. Esther uses these readymade sites as both starting points for her hard-edge paintings and as standalone objects. These once-functional kitchens are restaged, repurposed, and reimagined, resulting in uncanny domestic departments.
Oscar Perry is showing a collection of abstract paintings. These paintings, made on cheap, store-bought canvases, are stacked, flipped, and fitted within each other. This process is repeated over and over. Seen on mass, the paintings referred to as ‘Monitors’ form structures. Obsolete networks of colour and shape.
Opening Event: Friday September 8, from 6pm.
