Neon Parc presents a two-part exhibition with renowned architect, artist and designer Gaetano Pesce, to be premiered at Neon Parc City and the Melbourne Design Fair.
Of the founding generation of radical designers, Pesce’s influence remains unparalleled. By refusing to adhere to traditional boundaries between architecture, sculpture, and conceptual art, his cross-contamination between genres consequentially altered the landscape of design and was a catalyst for the establishment of the contemporary studio practice.
For his first project in Melbourne presented at Neon Parc City, the exhibition is comprised of historical objects and designs and sketches for larger projects, including an early design of his widely known the Pratt Chair, produced for the Pratt Institute in New York in 1984, a sketch for the Moloch Lamp, 1970, and early renderings for interior proposals.
